Nika's career began in 2002 when she participated in one of the most successful programs in the history of Spanish television after being chosen in a casting of more than eighty thousand people. "Operacion Triunfo", where she would share the stage with artists like of Santana and Shania Twain.

Thanks to this participation, she recorded her first single "Trampa de cristal" selling more than 200,000 copies, and givng her the possibility to record her first album. "Quien dijo que era el fin" sold more than 50,000 copies and the single SER YO was heard on all the radio stations at the time. During that year, she would make several big tours, performing on the most important stages in Spain, including at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona with more than sixteen thousand people in the audience. 

Three years later, she would remake herself and release her second album "Desde Madrid", giving a radical turn to her musical style and image, and again participating in numerous television shows and covers of fashion magazines.
