PER THORNBERG
Per Thornberg is a versatile and accomplished artist with an extensive list of qualifications. He is a renowned jazz musician and tenor saxophonist, a dedicated teacher of improvisation, a lecturer, an author of educational books, a composer, and an art critic.
Thornberg is known for his collaborations with visual artists, exploring the dynamic intersection of music and art in crossover projects. Throughout his career, he has performed alongside esteemed musicians such as Lars Jansson, Jacob Karlzon, Arne Domnérus, Bobo Stenson, Jan Lundgren, Carl Allen, Adrian Mears, and Mike del Ferro. His contributions span radio, television, and numerous recordings, including his notable saxophone solo in Per Gessle’s hit song “Kom ut till stranden". In recognition of his excellence in music education, he was awarded “Jazz Teacher of the Year” in Sweden in 2014.
In addition to his concert tours across Sweden, Thornberg has appeared as a guest artist in Denmark, Norway, France, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
