JÖRGEN ANDERSSON
Jörgen Andersson began his musical journey like many of his peers, learning the recorder in third grade before transitioning to piano. By the age of 14, he formed a dance band that played at parties and weddings, where his renditions of songs like “Gråt inga tårar” moved the audience. However, the logistical challenges of being driven by parents eventually led the band to dissolve.
At 17, Jörgen joined the band “Infektion,” alongside drummer Mikael Erlandsson, who later became the lead singer for Secret Service. A year later, Jörgen moved to the band “Spader Ass,” which secured a record deal with Vivaldi Studios and began working with Bernard Löhr. Though their recording ambitions were cut short, Spader Ass—later renamed Fraque—gained recognition by placing second in a regional final of Pop-SM, the same competition that launched Europe’s career. Unfortunately, national service and other commitments eventually caused the band to disband.
Despite stepping away from music to focus on competitive dancing, Jörgen continued to compose. He later collaborated with Lars "Dille" Diedricson, a songwriter and Eurovision winner. Together, they were on the verge of a major breakthrough with a track intended for Fame, winners of Fame Factory, but the project was halted when Dille became ill and later passed away.
In 2018, Jörgen decided to release his own music, this time stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist. In 2021, he co-founded Aktiebolaget Pop with three experienced musicians from Kungsbacka. Although he wishes he had continued writing songs after Fraque, Jörgen has carved out a fulfilling second chapter in his musical career, creating and performing on his own terms.
