Formed by four longtime friends in the spring of 2019, Shiba initially embraced a rock-driven sound. Influenced by classic and modern rock/garage bands, they combined the intensity of their early music with a sense of exploration, drawing inspiration from acts like The Growlers, The Strokes, and The Doors. Their early sound was dreamy, gritty, and marked by bold guitar riffs that resonated with a rock edge, hinting at an experimental undercurrent.
 

As the band evolved, they began exploring new musical directions, shifting further into dreamy, atmospheric territory. This transformation became more pronounced with their latest single, Rugged Hands, where they blend rock with touches of surf rock, crafting a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Inspired by the timeless vibes of bands like The Doors and Allah-Las, Shiba’s new music radiates laid-back grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and a hazy, sun-soaked atmosphere, all while preserving the raw energy of their rock roots.
